This talk investigates why Self Compassion is important and The Self Compassion Break which is a practice developed by Kristen Neff, Phd. I first gave this talk at a half day long retreat I co-led in December 2025. It was repurposed and given again at EBEM on 4/12.
At the end of 2025 I was hit with an infection that exacerbated my Multiple Sclerosis and left me in the hospital for a total of 29 days. Meditation is difficult in a hospital so in this talk I discussed ways I adapted my practice to fit the setting.
